This Shipping Policy explains how Portex Logistics handles shipment requests, cargo acceptance, delivery coordination, tracking, customs support, and customer responsibilities.

Policy Overview

Clear Standards for Shipment Handling and Delivery

Portex Logistics provides freight and logistics services for domestic and international shipments, including air freight, ocean freight, road freight, rail freight, express delivery, warehousing, and shipment coordination.

By using our services, customers agree to provide accurate shipment information, comply with applicable transport regulations, and ensure that goods are properly packed, declared, and ready for collection or delivery.

Shipping Standards

Our Service Policy

These terms help protect customers, carriers, receivers, and all parties involved in the movement of goods through our logistics network.

01

Shipment Acceptance

Shipments are accepted only when the goods, documentation, declared value, packaging, weight, dimensions, destination, and service requirements are clearly provided and approved.

02

Accurate Shipment Information

Customers are responsible for providing correct sender details, receiver details, cargo description, declared value, weight, dimensions, delivery address, and any special handling instructions.

03

Packaging Requirements

All goods must be packed securely for transport. Packaging must protect the shipment during loading, handling, transit, storage, customs inspection, and final delivery.

04

Transit Times

Transit times are estimates and may vary due to customs clearance, weather conditions, port congestion, aircraft or vessel schedules, carrier delays, documentation issues, or other operational factors.

05

Customs & Duties

International shipments may be subject to customs inspections, import duties, taxes, clearance charges, and regulatory checks. These costs are the responsibility of the sender or receiver unless agreed otherwise.

06

Restricted Goods

Certain goods may be restricted, prohibited, or require special approval. Customers must declare regulated items before shipment acceptance.

Collection and Shipment Processing

Shipment collection is arranged based on the agreed service, location, cargo type, shipment size, documentation status, and carrier availability. Customers must ensure goods are ready for collection at the agreed time and accessible for loading.

If the shipment is not ready, incorrectly packed, inaccurately declared, or unavailable for collection, additional charges may apply. Portex Logistics may refuse or delay shipment processing where required information is missing or where the cargo presents a safety, compliance, or handling concern.

Delivery Terms

Deliveries are made to the address provided by the customer. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that the delivery address is accurate, accessible, and suitable for the type of shipment being delivered.

Delivery may require a signature, proof of identity, receiving stamp, or confirmation from the consignee. If the receiver is unavailable, delivery may be rescheduled or the shipment may be held at a facility, depending on the service type and carrier conditions.

Tracking and Shipment Updates

Tracking updates are provided based on available scan events, carrier updates, warehouse processing, customs movement, and delivery milestones. Tracking information may not update in real time at every stage of the shipment.

Customers should use the tracking number provided at shipment confirmation. For additional support, customers may contact Portex Logistics with the shipment reference, sender details, receiver details, and destination information.

Customs Clearance and International Shipments

For international shipments, customs authorities may request commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, import permits, tax identification numbers, product details, or other supporting documents.

Customs clearance times are controlled by the relevant authorities and may vary by country, product type, documentation accuracy, inspection requirements, and local regulations. Portex Logistics can support the coordination process but cannot guarantee customs release times.

Prohibited and Restricted Items

Portex Logistics does not accept shipments that violate applicable laws, transport regulations, safety requirements, customs rules, or carrier restrictions. Restricted goods may require prior approval, special documentation, specific packaging, or regulated transport handling.

Customers must declare any dangerous, fragile, temperature-sensitive, high-value, liquid, chemical, battery-powered, food-grade, medical, or regulated goods before shipment acceptance.

Liability and Service Limitations

Portex Logistics takes reasonable care in coordinating shipments through approved transport processes. However, logistics services may be affected by events outside our direct control, including customs delays, port congestion, weather conditions, carrier disruption, incorrect documentation, receiver unavailability, or force majeure events.

Liability may be limited depending on the service selected, cargo type, declared value, insurance status, carrier terms, and applicable transport conventions. Customers are encouraged to request cargo insurance for high-value or sensitive shipments.

Claims, Delays, Damage, or Missing Shipments

Any claim relating to loss, visible damage, shortage, delay, or delivery concern must be reported as soon as possible with the tracking number, shipment reference, photos where applicable, commercial invoice, packing details, and a description of the issue.

Claims are reviewed based on shipment records, delivery evidence, carrier reports, packaging condition, declared cargo details, and applicable service terms. Submitting a claim does not automatically confirm liability or compensation.

Shipping Policy FAQ

Common Questions

Are delivery times guaranteed?

Delivery times are estimates unless a guaranteed service is confirmed in writing. Transit may be affected by customs, carrier schedules, weather, or operational delays.

Who pays customs duties and taxes?

Customs duties, VAT, import taxes, and clearance charges are normally paid by the sender or receiver, depending on the agreed shipping terms.

Can my shipment be refused?

Yes. Shipments may be refused if goods are prohibited, unsafe, incorrectly declared, poorly packed, missing documents, or not suitable for the selected transport service.

Should I insure my shipment?

Insurance is strongly recommended for high-value, fragile, sensitive, or commercial cargo where additional protection is required.
